This is it, pansit!

After a few months of preparation, the time is upon us. Tomorrow's the big day. Thirdy's party is just 13 hours away!

I remember when Chea and I were getting married. We were hands-on with the selection process for our suppliers and with the plans, but my brother was there for the execution. But with Thirdy's christening and first birthday celebration, since my brother is no longer around, we were having second thoughts about doing it ourselves.

We couldn't find someone who can do the worrying for us, without paying them huge sums of money. And most of our family and friends had other obligations, so we had to mostly rely on ourselves.

Yesterday night, we still had to do the final preparations. Some of our plans didn't work out. But that's the great part of handling your own parties: you won't scream at yourself if things don't work according to plan. But if you were doing it for other people? And they're paying you huge sums of money for it? I guess you can imagine what would happen.

So last night, Chea was finally able to pick up all the cardboard print outs of the decorations we were going to use for the party. Chea, my mom, and our helpers had to start cutting them out.

I, on the other hand, started packing all the party stuff into boxes. Chea helped me in figuring out what we wanted to place in the memorabilia corner.

After that, Chea and my mom continued working on the marshmallow/oreo pops. They finished around midnight.

By the time we woke up around 7 today, Chea and my mom continued on working with the 'pops. I then started stuffing all the boxes in our car. I managed to fill the trunk and the back seat of the car with all the items, and there were still a few boxes left out.

We were planning to borrow a truck from one of our supplier, but they weren't available that early, and we had plans for the afternoon. And since our car was banned under the license plate coding scheme for the day, we couldn't use it so we had to borrow my dad's car.

Our original plan was to have Chea, Tita Fe and Thirdy stay at Lancaster Hotel for the night. While my mom and myself were to head back home. Unfortunately, my father had something else to do, and I don't drive myself. So we had to change plans. My mom was the one to stay at the hotel with Tita Fe and Thirdy, while Chea and I do all of our business for the day, and then head back home, and just bring the decorations tomorrow instead of today.

So we left the house by 1pm, leaving all the decorations at home. We then dropped by at Chocolate Lovers to buy additional stuff for the 'pops. And then headed to Ortigas to my office for a while. We then headed to Lancaster and checked in my mom, tita fe and thirdy.

Now, the original plan was we'd head to our photographer's place at Marikina, meet a family friend who's doing some of the decorations, visit Photoline's main branch in Robinson's pioneer, then meet with our hosts after, and finally drop by at Charlie and Gerard's flat to pick up the avp.

Unfortunately, it was almost 4pm by the time we arrived at Lancaster. The trip to Marikina and the family friend (who's in the far part of Antipolo) would easily take 3 hours. So Chea just called our photographer and discussed things over the phone. We then asked Chea's cousin Donna to meet our friend, in our stead, tomorrow.

So with those two trips out of the way, Chea and I went to Robinson's Pioneer, and had a 20" x 30" poster printed out, along with a few 2r/4r pictures of Thirdy. We also picked up a few things at National Bookstore. It was already 6:30pm (What's with today? Seems like time's going way too fast), so we had dinner at Savory.

This isn't the finished one we had printed.  There was a last minute change.

We dropped by Lia's Cake to make sure they had our orders booked for tomorrow. Then we went to McDonald's in Katipunan to meet our host, Kimmy, and planned the program for tomorrow. It's just a 1 hour program for the kids so they can keep busy while the parents get to chat for a while.

We then went to Charlie and Gerard's flat for the avp. Gerard was still stuck in traffic. Fortunately, Charlie was already home so we got to watch the avp and then copied it to our thumb drive.

After that, we drove home and got in around 11pm. The party's tomorrow so we have to wake up real early, as we need to bring all the decorations at One Cafe by 8am and do the arrangements as well. It's going to be a really long day tomorrow.
